Our Lady Bulldogs showed heart and determination in their final home district games of the season against the Uvalde Lobos this past Monday.
7th Grade Teams
7th Grade A (L: 25-9, 25-15) The 7th Grade A team fell to Uvalde for the second time this season, but showed awesome glimpses of high-quality volleyball. Lila Hicks served exceptionally well, recording 7 aces, while Marlene Tetzlaff and Harper Word each added an ace. Great passing points were produced by Everly VanderZee, Kenzie Campbell, and Harper Word.
7th Grade B (L: 25-18, 24-26, 9-15) The 7th Grade B team battled Uvalde in a tough three-set loss, but their tremendous improvement since their first meeting with Uvalde was clear! Shannon Lewis, Madison Halsell and Macy Keenan were nearly perfect from the serving line. The offense was set up well by numerous on-target passes from Evangelina Rodriguez, Shannon Lewis and Madeline Anderwald. The team's serve-receive is getting better every time they step on the court.
8th Grade Teams
8th Grade A (L: 14-25, 26-28) The 8th Grade A team suffered a disappointing two-set loss, battling hard in the second set before falling just short (26-28). The team took away a valuable lesson: when the system is out, we must trust the process, our team, and ourselves. We are proud of their continued growth! Key Stats: Colbie Lalanne contributed 6 assists and 7 points, and Breena Byrd led the defense with 9 digs and 12 points, plus 2 aces. Other strong contributors included Harper Hartsfield (2 aces, 2 assists, 7 points), Sydney Bowman (6 digs, 1 kill), and Mika Gray (strong back-row passing).
8th Grade B (L: 25-23, 14-25, 12-15) The 8th Grade B team displayed incredible heart, pushing their match to three games before falling just short. After winning a tough first set (25-23), the girls fought hard and never gave up. This tough battle is serving as fuel as they head into their final game—a chance for redemption after a first-half loss!
