BHS boys basketball fights hard in season opener vs. Fox Tech

The Bandera High School Boys Basketball program officially tipped off the new season on Tuesday night against the Fox Tech Buffaloes at the Alamo Convocation Center. Both the JV and Varsity squads showcased relentless Bulldog hustle, competing in tightly contested battles right down to the final buzzer.

Junior Varsity Battles on the Boards
The JV Bulldogs fought hard to keep the game close, fueled by an outstanding effort on the glass. Cooper Cale was an absolute force around the rim, dominating the boards with over 10 rebounds and continually giving the Bulldogs critical second-chance scoring opportunities.
The offense was paced by a strong night from Chris Martinez, who led all scorers with 13 points. Cale contributed 5 points, and De La Paz added 4 points while doing a great job facilitating the ball movement for the squad.

Varsity Falls in Thriller, Eyes Next Win
The Varsity Bulldogs delivered a true nail-biter for the fans, taking the season opener down to the final seconds before dropping a heartbreaker, 49-51. The competitive performance sets a strong tone for the season.
James Bower led the charge for Bandera, powering the offense with a team-high 16 points and pulling down 5 rebounds. Anden Tenis De Grote and Logan Pierce each contributed 8 points apiece, and Cooper Franklin anchored the defense around the basket, pulling down an impressive 9 rebounds.
The Bulldogs look to bounce back immediately and secure their first "W" of the season Saturday when they face YMLA.
