Lady Bulldogs win home opener

The Bandera Lady Bulldogs basketball team won their home opener Tuesday versus the Hondo Lady Owls, 48-43. Bandera jumped out to a 16-8 lead in the first quarter and extended it to 30-17 at the half. The 13-point halftime lead provided enough cushion for the Bulldogs to hold off Hondo’s second half comeback attempt, and junior Jessi Battle’s back-to-back threes in the 4th quarter iced the game for Bandera.
Battle finished with 13 points, including three 3-pointers, while senior Brooklyn Grabs tallied 10 points and 8 rebounds, and senior Taytum Moeller grabbed 10 rebounds to go along with 4 steals.
