Bandera County commissioners accepted an $8,000 donation collected to supplement the purchase of a tractor to be used at Mansfield Park. The group effort was organized by people who regularly use the arena, and suggested a larger series tractor with upgrades and accessories.
“Some locals recommend a more expensive piece of equipment,” Pct. 1 Commissioner Troy Konvicka said Tuesday. “Multiple people offered to donate money to Mansfield Park and teh county.”
The money will be added to $32,000 already budgeted, which will purchase a new Case 60A full-wheel drive tractor.
In other business, commissioners honored former Bandera County Convention and Visitors Bureau Executive Director Patricia Moore, who retired last month.
“I could not be a legend without the people standing behind me. One person cannot do it by themselves,” Moore said, recognizing the CVB staff. “They are the ones who make that office work.”
“Eleven years or so ago, we met; 11 years or so ago, we had some hard times; 11 years later, we’re doing pretty good,” Pct. 4 Commissioner Jody Rutherford said. “I want you to know I appreciate what you’ve done…for this county.”
