Our Lady of Guadalupe celebrated at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church

In the early, dark hours of Dec. 12, Father Frank Kursaj got St. Stanislaus Catholic Church open early and ready for us to celebrate Our Lady of Guadalupe at the Grotto.
The Spanish Choir led the parishioners at 6 a.m., with the first song of Las Mañanitas to Our Heavenly Mother of God and us all. We enjoyed a
rosary procession at 4 p.m. by the Medina River, followed by the Matachines dance at the Grotto.
A play depicting the story of the Blessed Virgin, Juan Diego and the Bishop was performed in English, and was short and very well explained by Maria Contreras. The choir and musicians sang joyful Guadalupan hymns in Spanish.
The gathering in the Parish Hall was very well attended, while plates of tamales made by parish ladies were served, along with art and pasta, lots of posters, agua fresca and champurrado, and soft drinks.
