Bandera Electric Cooperative prepared for approaching winter storm

Bandera Electric Cooperative (BEC) is closely monitoring an approaching winter weather system that may bring freezing temperatures and winter precipitation to the area. BEC crews and personnel are taking proactive steps to prepare for potential impact and are ready to respond if needed.
In advance of the storm, BEC has been conducting cold-weather readiness activities, including inspecting critical equipment, reviewing staffing and response plans, and ensuring crews and resources are positioned to respond safely and efficiently. The cooperative is also coordinating with local emergency management partners as forecasts continue to evolve.
“While weather conditions can change quickly, our teams are prepared and ready to respond,” Bandera Electric Cooperative CEO Bill Hetherington, at said. “We encourage our members to prepare now and take steps to stay safe ahead of winter weather.”

BEC also reminds the public to always stay away from downed power lines and assume they are energized. Any outages or hazardous conditions should be reported immediately to BEC at 866-226-3372.
