Fernandez-Donat hat trick powers Bulldogs to district victory over Fredericksburg

The Bandera High School Boys Varsity Soccer team secured a gritty 3-1 district victory on the road against Fredericksburg this past week. The win was fueled by a dominant offensive performance from Alvaro Fernandez-Donat and a masterclass in goalkeeping by Jaymin Klein.
Varsity: Clutch Scoring and Defensive Resilience Junior Alvaro Fernandez-Donat opened the scoring early, converting a penalty kick to give Bandera the lead. Junior Captain and Goalkeeper Jaymin Klein anchored the defensive effort, recording 15 saves on the night. Klein’s distribution and quick decision-making directly assisted Fernandez-Donat’s second goal. Fernandez-Donat capped off a spectacular night by completing a hat trick in the final minute of the match, curling in a free kick to seal the 3-1 win.
"The team effort it took to hold onto a one-goal lead for 39 minutes was impressive," Coach Westley Miller said. "Our guys knew what it would take to win; I'm extremely proud of the way this team has played this week.”
JV: Strong Early Showing The Bulldog JV squad showed significant poise early in their match, with Sophomore Sebastian Acosta and Freshman Emmanuel Tirado controlling the midfield. Juniors Thomas Isbell and Dominica Garcia provided strong leadership on the back line. Despite a competitive first half, Fredericksburg surged late to take the match 4-0.
