Bulldogs secure program sweep with dominant victories over Canyon Lake

By Nicole Flowers
Bandera ISD Athletic Director’s Administrative Assistant

The Bandera Bulldog soccer program successfully defended its home turf, securing a "program sweep" with decisive victories at both the Junior Varsity and Varsity levels against the Canyon Lake Hawks.

Varsity: Shutout Victory Highlights Defensive Discipline The Varsity Bulldogs moved to the win column with a clinical 2-0 performance. Junior Alvaro Fernandez-Donat continued his offensive tear, netting both goals for the Bulldogs. He was assisted by a precision ball from Hector Montero Rodriguez.
Defensively, the Bulldogs were impenetrable. Junior Captain Jaymin Klein anchored the back line, recording three saves and earning a clean sheet. The victory marks a significant step forward in district play, characterized by consistent ball movement and defensive communication.

JV: Offensive Explosion Leads to 4-1 Win The Junior Varsity squad set the tone for the evening with an aggressive 4-1 victory. Emmanuel Tirado led the scoring with a brace (2 goals), while Garner Grabs and Ryitt Medellin each found the back of the net to round out the scoring. The win showcased the depth of the Bulldog roster and a relentless attacking third.
Looking Ahead The Bulldogs will look to carry the momentum of this sweep into their next district matchup as they continue their push toward the postseason.
