Bandera Middle School track programs dominate season opener in Ingram

The Bandera Middle School track and field program launched its 2026 season with an overwhelming display of depth and speed at the season's opening meet in Ingram. The Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs secured a massive collection of hardware, including a first-place overall team finish for the 8th-grade boys.
Lady Bulldogs: Silver and Bronze Team Trophies The BMS girls established themselves as a regional force, with the 8th-grade girls earning the 2nd Place overall trophy (Silver) and the 7th-grade girls capturing 3rd Place overall (Bronze).

- 7th Grade Highlights: Lila Hicks delivered a historic "Quad-Gold" performance, taking 1st place in the High Jump (4'4"), Long Jump (14ft), 100m (14.02), and 200m (29.13). Iris Moore secured Gold in the 400m Dash (1:08.42) and Silver in the 800m. The 4x100m Relay (Campbell, Garcia, Jaschke, Hicks) also took home Gold, while Kenzie Campbell earned Silver in the 100m.
- 8th Grade Highlights: Emily Short secured a double-gold in the 100m Dash (13.81) and as part of the 1st Place 4x100m Relay (Collazo, Gray, Short, Hicks). Chaslyn Sager dominated the 2400m Run (11:19) for Gold, while Olivia Rynarsewski (2400m) and Hannah Lehman (Discus) both earned Silver.
- 8th Grade Gold: First-place finishes were earned by Jacob Tetzlaff (Pole Vault), Maddox Rivas (Discus), the 4x100m Relay (Cody McCarthy, Hud McPherson, Samuel Postert, Daniel Cale), and the 4x200m Relay (Daniel Cale, Samuel Postert, Hud McPherson, Matthew Lopez). Alberto Muniz (1600m), Rudy Esparza (2400m), David De La Rosa (110m Hurdles), and Cody McCarthy (200m) all secured Silver medals.
- 7th Grade Highlights: The 7th-grade boys earned a 2nd Place team finish, led by Branden Delaney’s gold-medal sweep of the 100m and 200m sprints. Layton Wheeler took 1st in the 110m Hurdles, while Jordyn Goldberg (2400m) and Eli Miller (110m Hurdles) secured Silver. Aiden Rush contributed two bronze finishes in the 100m and 200m.
