Six Vets Over Texas

What a fun day in the Big City! The VA invited My Future Husband (I’ll figure out a name later) to come for a glorious day in their Indoor Park. Gates opened at 8:30 a.m., so we had to hitch up the Black Cadillac Stallion early for a gallop to town.
The day before I told MFH to call the VA and find out where room GF 023 was. Sounded like a place we didn’t know. He did and announced, “They said it’s the Ground Floor and I’m pretty sure I know where to go. Maybe.” I’d be happy to tell him where to go.
The next morning, we headed out for a fun day. Mr. “I Know Where It Is” had me ride my stallion to three different buildings until he finally asked someone. He signaled me where to hitch my horse and said to ask for directions when I got inside. Such help.
He went on as I headed into Six Vets Over Texas and walked up to the counter to ask a nice girl for directions to GF 023. She explained, “Go around the corner, turn left at the hallway and head up to the next hallway and turn left then walk all the way to the end, take a right and you’ll see the special elevators…”
At this point, I was still wondering where the first hallway was, when Magic Mike walked up and said, “You’ll never find it. It’s the Ground Floor.” To which I replied, “Ground Floor? Where? Does it have cobwebs and spiders?” He just winked and we headed to the next amusement.
At the elevators we found My Future Husband standing there looking very confused. I said, “No worries! I’m pretty sure I know where to go, but luckily, I found Mike here and he’s our Park Guide.
After walking another mile, we finally arrived at our destination – the Spinal Tap Ride. I think they should rethink its location.
We saw a very nice lady doctor who had two boys and a girl, a husband, a full-time job and too much on her plate. That’s why she told her kids to just pee in the backyard, I guess. Funny what you talk about during an examination that’s not yours. After she finished Q-Tipping MFH, she declared, “Heck, you’re just fine! You can’t imagine who I see around here!” I’m pretty sure it’s cobwebs and spiders.
When we were getting ready to leave, the Spinal Tap Duo working at the front desk decided we should both have wheelchair rides back to the front door. I thought that would be a fun ride for MFH, but I’m scared of rollercoasters, so I was worried it could end up being like a wild ride at the Texas State Fair. But the Duo convinced me, so I agreed. Can’t turn down free.
Then we sat and waited for them as I pondered the fact I had reached the point in life where I was now riding wheelchairs at Six Vets Over Texas. I desperately needed to go shoe shopping.
Then our two Talladega Race Wheelers arrived, and we took the fastest joy ride I’ve ever had at the VA. Make that the only one. But the time we had zipped up to the front door, I was wondering if I needed to buy an electric wheelchair to have some big fun racing around outside. I finally decided it was much better to just visit Six Vets Over Texas whenever I needed a good joy ride.
And then, we rode off into the sunset.
