Bandera meeting set for the League of Women Voters - Hill Country Texas
The League of Women Voters of the Hill Country Texas has scheduled a meeting on Thursday, April 2 at 9 a.m. The Hen's Nest located at 1134C Main Street in Bandera will be the venue. Breakfast will be "Dutch treat.” Individuals interested in the League are welcome to attend.
The agenda includes working on a plan to "Get Out the Vote" and distribution of League voter guides for the Primary Runoff Election on May 26.
Reminder from the League: Monday, April 27, is the last day to register to vote or change information on voter registration for the 2026 Primary Runoff Election on Tuesday, May 26. A citizen who is already registered to vote can update their voter registration information online at votetexas.gov. This means changing an address or a name. Texas does not allow a citizen to register to vote online. The state website, votetexas.gov, does provide a form to register to vote. A citizen can print the form, complete the form, and mail or take the completed form
to the Bandera County Election Department.
The Texas Primary Runoff Elections includes one runoff election for Bandera County: the Republican Party ballot will list Bandera County Judge with two candidates - Dennis Fitzgerald and Susan Junker.
The other offices listed on the Republican Party ballot: US Senator, Attorney General, and Railroad Commissioner. The Democratic Party ballot includes two state offices: Lieutenant Governor and Attorney General.
The Texas Election Code contains strict guidelines about who is eligible to vote in Primary Runoff Elections:
1) If you did NOT vote in one of the Primary Elections in March, you can vote in either the Democratic Party
Primary Runoff Election OR the Republican Party Primary Runoff Election on May 26. 2) If you voted in the Democratic Party Primary in March, you can only vote in the Democratic Party Primary Runoff Election. 3) If you voted in the Republican Party Primary in March, you can only vote in the Republican Party Primary Runoff Election.
