Bandera High School celebrated a landmark achievement today as senior student-athlete Brooklyn Grabs officially committed to continue her basketball and academic career at Howard Payne University in Brownwood.
Grabs, a standout leader for the Lady Bulldogs, was honored in a signing ceremony held at the high school, attended by family, coaches, teammates, and the student body. The ceremony marked the culmination of a distinguished four-year career on the Bandera Varsity Basketball team.
Beyond her physical prowess on the court, Grabs has proven to be a powerhouse in the classroom. She concludes her senior season having earned Honorable Mention Academic All-State honors, an accolade reserved for student-athletes who maintain elite academic standards while competing at the highest level of high school athletics. Grabs plans to pursue a degree in Business Management while competing for the Lady Jackets.
"She’s been the kind of player every coach hopes for—tough, coachable, and all about the team," Head Basketball Coach Carruthers said. "Watching her earn this opportunity at Howard Payne University has been something we’re all proud of."
Grabs will join the Howard Payne University athletic program following her graduation this May.
