Bandera Bulldogs conclude historic track season at UIL 4A State Meet

The Bandera girls' track and field program officially wrapped up an unforgettable season last week at the UIL 4A State Championships at the Mike A. Myers Stadium. Competing in one of the most elite and highly anticipated track meets in the United States, the Bulldogs proved they belong on the national stage.
"This season was truly one for the books," Head Track & Field Coach Brooke Ashcraft said. "To see our athletes compete at this level, battle against the best in Texas, and carry themselves with such poise makes me incredibly proud of this entire program."
State Meet Highlights:
Bandera’s impact at the state meet extended beyond the scoreboard. Under the guidance of Coach Keane and Coach Hartsfield, a dedicated group of Bandera student-athletes served as official State Meet workers. These students played a vital role in the execution of the event, moving starting blocks for the races and escorting the state's top three finishers to the podium.
"I want to extend a massive thank you to our coaches and our student workers," Ashcraft said. "They represented Bandera beautifully and gained invaluable behind-the-scenes experience at the biggest meet of the year. This entire journey showcased what 'We Are One' really means."
With several key competitors returning next year, the Bulldogs look to build on this state-level momentum as they head into the off-season.

State Meet Highlights:
- Milesia Casas: Opened the evening with a strong performance in the grueling 800-meter run, placing 8th in the state. She followed it up with a spectacular battle in the open 400-meter dash, fighting hard down the homestretch to capture a close 4th-place finish.
- 4x400-Meter Relay: The championship lineup of Merry Robinson, Milesia Casas, Cassi Williams, and Sydney Moore capped off the night by placing 7th in the state. The team clocked the second-fastest time in Bandera school history to solidify their legacy.
