Lakehills Area Library artist for July is Fiber Artist Anna Macnak

Anna moved to Texas from the Pacific Northwest in 2010, she and her husband Greg reside in Lakehills. It was around that same time that she began her love for quilting. Anna’s art is “inspired by the natural world,” and she often attempts to recreate in fiber the special places she likes to spend time at, like Funter Bay, Alaska. She also tries to “mirror nature” through fabric choice or design.
An original quilt of Anna’s which is titled One World, was designed by her and was quilted by Kustom Kwilts of Pipe Creek. The quilt features a “paper pieced” pattern of women figures that represent a world which women come together from every continent “to care for and heal our world”. One World received an Honorable Mention in the Hill Country Quilt Guild 2025 Quilt Show.
Anna is also a Texas Master Naturalist with the Hill Country Chapter and works as the Center Director for Mitchell Lake Audubon Center in San Antonio.
