Mandatory evacuation orders lifted

Mandatory evacuation orders have been lifted, and RVers may return to RV parks within the city limits. The Bandera City Park entrances will be closed until further notice, according to the City of Bandera. Pedestrians may enter the park, but caution is advised near the water.
The Medina River at City Park peaked yesterday evening after 8 p.m., at 16.76 feet, moderate flood stage, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
Areas of the county may experience scattered rainfall today, however conditions are expected to dry out over the next week, according to the National Weather Service.
The Silver Sage emergency shelter is closing and both the stores and community center are open today.
The Bandera County Sheriff's Office continues to monitor roads that are unpassable, advising motorists to not cross barricades. As of 7:11 a.m. on July 17, the following roadways are currently closed due to high water and flooding in Bandera County:

• Old School Road
• Cornelius Road
• Bandera Creek
• Privilege Creek
• Panther Hill
• Carpenters Creek
• Jackson Creek (1st Crossing)
• Old Mill Creek
• Thompson Road
• Spears Road

• S Seco Creek/Seco Pass
• Mazurek Road
• Williams Creek Road
• Spring Road/Lost Creek
• Reid Road
• Madrona Ranch Road
• Ross Road/Hondo Creek
• Chaparral Court
• Thomas Creek Road
• Bumpgate (SH 16 side & FM 1283 side)

Finally, as of this morning, the Medina Lake is at 1,013.46 feet - 22.4 percent capacity, up 13.4 percent from one week ago, when the mean water level was 991.03 feet.
