Think I'm Out of a Job?

We’ve all been wondering about this Artificial Intelligence thing, so I decided to research it and see if there was an app for the “brightest of the bots” ChatGPT. There was and it’s only going to cost me $19.99 a month to use it. Problem is, I’ll never figure out how to opt out if it’s totally insane.

Growing Up In Bandera

Back in my early years I was like many others kids around town who picked up every beer and soda bottle along the roads to return for deposit and then immediately spent the money on bubble gum and penny candy. It was pretty much the same story when it came to gathering pecans to sell. Later in high school and beyond we were looking for enough money to buy a six pack or two of beer to be shared with buddies down on the river.
When I started working at the Phillip's 66 station in town I had more money but less time off to spend with my friends. It wasn't too bad though because there were a couple of girls who lived close by and came to visit quite often.

Keep in Beat with the Bandera Library

Any guesses yet as to who the culprit is? All month long we are celebrating Murder Mystery March with a community-wide game of Clue. The much beloved, dare I say adored, library director has come to an untimely end. All that was left was the pile of books she was shelving and a spilled cup of Earl Grey tea. Follow along as clues are released on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays this month. Those who correctly guess the identity of the murderer will be entered into a drawing for a prize.

When the war between the states broke out, Texans found themselves in conflict with one another. Sailing the Pacific
How the Manila galleon shaped international trade

In March of 1521, Portugese explorer Fernando de Magallanes docked off the coast of Cebu in the Philippines, achieving the first European navigation from the Atlantic Ocean to Asia. The same year, Spanish General Hernán Cortés conquered the Aztec empire, expanding the Spanish-owned territory from California to South America.
Divided by the Pacific Ocean, the Spaniards needed a way to commute between their newly-established sovereignty. Thus was the birth of the Manila galleon.
