Luitgard Cornelison
May 29, 1939 ~ February 2, 2026

Luitgard Cornelison passed away Monday, Feb. 2, 2026, at home in Bandera. Lui was born Luitgard Margarethe Stenglein on May 29, 1939, to Konrad und Maria Stenglein, in the small village of Sachsendorf-Neuhaus, in the verdant forested hill country of Frankonia, in the state of Bavaria, Germany. The only girl among four brothers, she attended secondary school at the Convent of Vierzehnheiligen outside Lichtenfels, Germany.

Diego Silva

Diego Silva passed away from cancer on January 4, 2026. He attended Bandera High school and had recently graduated.
A funeral service will be held in his honor on Saturday, Jan. 10, at 1 p.m., at Bandera Funeral Chapel.

David Guerra
April 10, 2004 ~ January 5, 2026

David Guerra, 21, was a resident of Pipe Creek, and a graduate of Bandera High School. Always known for a caring and giving heart and constant smile, David went on to Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Dayton, Florida, and earned many awards and accolades for his academic achievements. He was two semesters from graduation when he fell ill before Christmas. David fought briefly a battle with leukemia. He did not lose the battle - he simply finally flew into space and landed in Heaven on Jan. 5.

Jehu D. "Jud" Ashmore, beloved Texas radio and television meteorologist, World War II U.S. Navy veteran, and adventurer whose warmth and humor touched generations of viewers and listeners, passed away peacefully in his sleep in his home in Bandera, on Dec. 31, 2025, at the age of 101.
