Pipe Creek & Lakehills news
By Vicki L. George
Greetings!
Triple-H Equitherapy is celebrating Flag Day, our veterans and their therapy horses in a big way this year. They invite the public to “Horses and Heroes,” on Saturday, June 1, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at their location, 791 Backhaus Rd, Pipe Creek. This fundraiser will benefit Triple-H’s Wounded Veterans program.
The day will feature several special events with a wild west show, motorcycles, and longhorns, complete with a cowboy lunch from the chuck wagon. Tickets are $25 for adults, while kiddos get in for $5.
To reserve your tickets, and pay at the door, contact Ginger at 830-388-2263 or ginger@triple-h.org.
St. Victor Chapel will hold their annual Festival on Sunday, June 2 in the Lakehills Civic Center, located at 11,225 PR 37. It will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with food, fun and games for the whole family. For more information, call Don or Margaret Christilles at 830-510-6691.
The Lakehills Area Library reminds everyone that the Evening Book Club will meet in the library on Monday, June 3 to discuss The Poet by Michael Connelly.
Summer reading for the kiddos will begin Wednesday, June 12 at the library. Sign up has begun. The theme is A Universe of Stories. The youngsters will have crafts and “some out of this world fun.” Go by the library at 7200 FM 1283 to pick up your reading logs.
All library programs are open to the public and free of charge. Call for more information at 830-510-2777.
Local churches are ramping up for Vacation Bible Schools. The first one I have heard about is at Lakehills Baptist Church on FM 1283, at 155 Laurel Vista Dr. Their VBS will run from June 24 to 28, from 8:30 a.m. to noon each day. There will be classes for Pre-K through grade 5. You can register online at lakehillsbaptist.org or call for more information at 830-751-2006.
According to American Legion Post 410, of Lakehills, there is still time for veterans to call 844-277-3646 to find a participating Aspen Dental office and schedule an appointment for free dental care on Saturday, June 8. Dental treatments will include cleanings, exams, and pain relief.
For more information on the Legion, call 830-751-3711.
On Monday, May 27, our Medina Lake level was 1064.07 feet. That is down 0.13 feet, which is 99.7% capacity. The Medina River had a flow of 103 cfs in Bandera, running 4.51 feet deep at the gage.

Until next time, “Vaya con Dios!”
