Horses & Heroes

Fundraiser set to benefit therapy horse program for wounded veterans and those with challenges.

Horses & Heroes - celebrating Flag Day, our veterans and therapy horses - will be tomorrow, June 1, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The fundraising event will feature Buffalo Bill Cody and his Wild West Show, with Cody, Sitting Bull, Calamity Jane, Annie Oakley and other costumed re-enactors.
Come on out and enjoy a chuck wagon cowboy lunch, live music, face-painting, Bandera Cattle Company Gunfighters and mounted Texas Thunder Drill Team performances. Take a ride on Wes Hatch's longhorn steer Redneck and try to win the costume contest (be sure to wear your best western duds or dress up as your favorite wild west character). As always, the Triple H trained therapy horses will be on-hand.
Proceeds will benefit Triple H Equitherapy’s program for wounded veterans who have physical and mental challenges. Veterans of all eras can participate. In addition to serving veterans, Triple H offers equine-assisted activities and therapy for children as young as 3, at-risk youth and adults with special needs.
The ticket price is $25 for adults and $5 for kids. Tickets are available at: https://horses-n-heroes.eventbrite.com. Or, call 830-388-2263 to reserve your space — seating is limited.
Horses and Heroes will take place at Triple-H Equitherapy, 791 Backhaus Road, Pipe Creek.
