The Bandera Prophet
Weathering the heavy winds, loud thunder and dangerous lightning, Bandera County received more than two inches of beneficial rainfall between last night and this morning’s storms.
The first wave rolled in between 11 p.m. and midnight, bringing with it pea-sized hail, 60 mph winds and a light show so vibrant it out-lit the full moon. According to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), rain amounts varied between .86 inches in Vanderpool to between two and three inches in Medina, Bandera and Pipe Creek.
The Medina River, as of today, is 93.3 percent full. The forecast for the rest of the week is high and dry, with temperatures ranging from 91 to 99 degrees.
