Through the Grapevine
Church Health Fair a hit
By Vicki L. George
At the Pipe Creek Presbyterian Church’s Summer Fun Fest Health Fair on Saturday, June 22, Outreach Specialist for Alamo Area Council of Governments Janina Lopez was a friendly soul who shared tips for senior citizens to make them safer in their homes. Some of the other organizations represented were Tri-County Home Health, Arthur Nagel Community Clinic, Franklin Park Assisted Living of Boerne and Bandera County EMS.
The Texas Kidney Foundation was popular with their free health screening for blood pressure, blood sugar and kidney function.
The food vendors were kept busy and the kiddos particularly enjoyed the face painting.

TRIVIA TIDBITS
The little protuberance at the front of your ear opening is called the tragus. The similar little bump in the lower rear of your ear opening is called the antitragus. “Tragus” comes from the Greek “tragos” and means “he-goat.”
