Extending the reach of camaraderie and brotherhood, commissioners signed a certificate of citizenship making Artur Owczarski, of Warsaw, Poland, an honorary citizen of Bandera County.
Owczarski last visited Bandera in August 2018. Being considered for one of the best authors in Poland, his next book will be about Texas and the cowboy life, featuring Bandera.
Elenora Dugosh Goodley, an ambassador for Poland who was instrumental in establishing the Polish/Ukraine sister city/county relationship, presented Owczarski to commissioners during their regular session on June 27.
“Bandera has a little part of my heart…people like Elenora make me feel like I’m at home here,” Owczarski said. “I think you have very special, regular people here…[with] amazing stories which I would like to present in my book.”
