Hill Country Karate celebrates its platinum year
This month, Hill Country Karate celebrates 20 years teaching the martial art in Lakehills. The class was started by Mark and Kim Fischer in 1999, after Mark received his black belt. In later years, the class was headed by Gilbert Rivera and Mark's son Mitchell Fischer. Presently, the class is led by Travis Dunlap, who became the first student to progress all the way through the junior ranks and adult program exclusively at Lakehills. He is assisted by his father, fellow black belt Robert Dunlap.
On Wednesday, July 31, at 7 p.m., immediately following the kids’ class, past and present Lakehills instructors, H.C.K. staff and Medina Lake Betterment Association representatives will be recognized. All current and former students are encouraged to attend and share memories with friends.
Classes are held at the Lakehills Civic Center, 11225 P.R. 37, Lakehills.
Refreshments will be served, and the wearing of gis is encouraged! Contact Mary Ellen Dunlap, [email protected], for more information.
