New Hill Country Elementary assistant principal named
Sarah Denny Verstuyft will join Bandera ISD campus administration as the new assistant principal at Hill Country Elementary School. Verstuyft will assume the assistant principal position formerly held by Dustin Baumann. Verstuyft’s previous experience includes serving as BISD’s advanced academic coordinator and as curriculum lead and English teacher at Bandera High School. Prior to that she taught English Language Arts at Devine Middle School and Pearsall Middle School. She has also served as an assistant principal in Dilley ISD.
Verstuyft holds a Masters of Education from Texas State University with a concentration in reading instruction and a Bachelor of Science from Appalachian State University. She holds Texas Educator Certifications for Principal and Master Reading Teacher as well as English Language Arts, Reading, Social Studies, History, and EC-6 Generalist.
“I am very excited to start my administrative duties at Hill Country Elementary. The energy and passion to inspire students is infectious, and I am thrilled to be a part of their team,” Verstuyft said.
“We are thrilled to have Sarah on board. Her depth of experience will support our students and our teachers in becoming future ready,” Hill Country Elementary principal Laura Klein said.
Verstuyft began her service at Hill Country Elementary this month.
