Christmas in July

By Amy Dee Hawley

The Silver Sage Ice Cream and Cake Social is held on the last Friday of each month. This July Social promises to be a big event. The first annual “Christmas in July” will be celebrated complete with decorations, food, a Christmas tree and music, and even Santa has agreed to take time out of his vacation to come to the party.
The festivities will begin around 12:20 p.m. when people are ready for their desserts. The recommended attire colors are red, Christmas green, pink or lime green. A small bag of cat food or dog food would be appreciated so the pets of Meals on Wheels clients can celebrate, too.
My grandmother had a knit shop when I was a little girl and there was a green Formica table in the center of the shop where people would sit, work on projects, and enjoy the company of others.
That special feeling is something I want to bring to Silver Sage - the fun of working on knitting, crochet, needlepoint, embroidery or any other project while laughing and visiting with others.
Beginning Wednesday, Aug. 7, at 1 p.m., The “Chat and Craft” group will get together, swap ideas and enjoy crafting while visiting with new friends. Silver Sage has is no age limit, no requirements and no membership. Adults of all ages are welcome.
