AMERICAN LEGION
The American Legion Post 410 Centennial Celebration Dinner is for the community and is free of charge. All are welcome to enjoy a special meal of pork loin roast with sides, salad, desserts and drink; and commemorate the Legion’s 100th birthday on Saturday, Sept. 14, at 6 p.m., in the Legion Hall.
The Hall will open at noon, as will the bar. There will be music and the playground for adults and kiddos to enjoy. A Dart Tournament will take place at 2 p.m. And there will be a special ceremony at 5:30 to change the name of 26th St. to Legion Drive.
The Legion is selling tickets for the drawing to be held at the Centennial dinner. One ticket is $10 and three tickets can be had for $25. Winners do not need to be present to win. The prizes are a 2002 Volkswagen Jetta; an American Legion Centennial Coin Set; and a Gift Card worth $250.
There will be separate drawings for two special prizes: a gift basket with a fifth of Texas Bourbon from Garrison Brothers Distillery; and another gift basket with a fifth of Vodka and assorted goodies. Those tickets are $5 each.
The Legion Post 410, located at 147 26th St. in Lakehills, is open to the public Fridays through Wednesdays, from 3-9 p.m., when they serve meals and provide entertainment for all ages. For information, call 830-751-3711.
