The Bandera Prophet
For anyone who may not know, Thursday night, Sept. 12, marked the third installment of the Bandera Songwriters Project. This event is the brainchild of Paul Hilliard, realtor by day, musician by night. It consists of four rounds of three songwriters each, sharing with you some of the most entertaining original music and stage banter ever.
Set in the casual ambiance of the Bandera Brewery, the stage resonates with the likes of local musicians David Wayne, Doc Williams, Mickey Burleson, Karen Lucia, Lee and Karen Haile, Pat Kelley, Victoria Soupley, and of course Mr. Hilliard himself. Joining them this time from out of town were Laura Marie, Mick Gamboa, from San Antonio and Shayna, from Austin.
They took their audience on an enjoyable three-hour journey, with heartfelt songs running the gamut from folk to patriotic, country to Gospel. Whatever your musical tastes there was something for everyone.
The next Bandera Songwriter Project will be in December, and if you are a fan of live original music watch for coming announcements. You don't want to miss it!
