Beware the walking dead, zombies are coming

By Jessica Goode
The Bandera Prophet

Zombies of all shapes and sizes are invited to attend an open casting call for the undead today and tomorrow. Starting at noon, auditions will be held at 347 Pue Road, Bandera, until 4 p.m. No appointment necessary, trail bosses, zombies and vampire cowboys 18 years and older are needed for 13 Nights of Fright.
The first event of the Cowboy Capital Dinner Theatre, 13 Nights of Fright is Old West meets the Walking Dead in a Halloween extravaganza. As legend tells, crew of cowboys and their longhorns disappeared from the great Western Cattle Trail between Bandera and Kerrville in 1873. Their spirits haunt the trail still, in the form of flesh-eating zombies and the Vampire Overlords who control them.
The imaginary brainchild of Hollywood stunt men and coordinators Jody Stelzig, Scott Miller and Christian Stokes, the Halloween outdoor experience is set for 13 nights only in Bandera. The main event is a zombie paintball hayride, in which guests shoot at the actors who portray the doomed cattle trail cowboys and their master vampires.
“We all came together to pull it off,” native Texan Stelzig said.
A casting call for men and women who are at least 18 years old is set for Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 21 and 22, from noon to 4 p.m. No appointment is necessary. Applicants should be prepared to fill out an audition application which will be provided on site. Resumes may be submitted to casting director Christian Stokes at stoked4stunts@gmail.com.

Those interested may go on site on Sunday, Sept. 22, from 4 - 6 p.m., send resumes through their Facebook page www.facebook.com/theccdt or email ccdt.squarespace@gmail.com.
