Candice Witt announces for Bandera City Council

My name is Candice Witt and I am proud to be running for City Council this November.  I moved to Bandera in the 1980s and I have lived here most of my life. While my husband and I lived in San Antonio for a few years we soon realized the hustle and bustle of the city wasn’t for us.  We sold our home and returned to Bandera last summer. We have always loved the feel of small-town living - where folks call you by name everywhere you go and your mail makes it to your door even when it has the wrong address.
My husband and I own the Bandera Bunkhouse on Main and Hill Country Referral Services, both of which focus on short term rentals for guests visiting Bandera. We love meeting new and interesting people from all over the world who come to visit our little piece of paradise and have made lifelong friends in the process. In fact, it was through my family’s previous business, the River Front Motel, that I met my husband years ago. We married in the Fall of 2014 at the Antler Oaks Lodge. We have a handful of fur babies which we love to spoil!
I earned my BBA in Business Management from Southwest Texas State University in 2004. I have worked locally for Tri County Home Health and River City Hospice, assisting both companies with opening their local branch offices. After deciding I needed a change from the medical administration field, I obtained my real estate license three years ago and I currently work for RE/MAX Military City – Levi Rodgers Group out of San Antonio, selling residential real estate.
In my spare time I enjoy dancing, home improvement projects and sitting outside by our firepit listening to live music from neighboring honkey tonks. My favorite past time is traveling with my husband – I always look forward to our adventures near and far.
No matter where our travels take us, Bandera will always be home. As property and business owners, my husband and I feel a duty to be more involved in our community.  Through earning your vote for a seat on the City Council, I seek to be a positive voice for local citizens to see Bandera face its’ inevitable growth positively and responsibly.
