A district employee received a phone call this morning indicating Bandera High School was in danger. The caller hung up and the employee reported the call to the school principal, who immediately notified authorities. Sheriff’s Office deputies inspected the campus and found no credible threat, BISD Communications Director Suzy Groff said.
Students were under Hold and Secure status, in which all exterior and interior doors were locked, for approximately one class period until the threat was ruled out.
Groff said investigators have identified the person who made the call, but could not elaborate on what kind of threat was made.
“In an abundance of caution, the Sheriff’s Department [maintained] a presence on campus throughout the day,” a post on the district’s Facebook page said.
