Bandera Cowgirls get 12 months

The shelves are stocked with Bandera’s 2020 Cowgirl Calendar - a 12-month pictorial of some of the county’s hard-working country women. Celebrating its second year of distribution, the annual publication recognizes the women who walk the walk and talk the talk of the true Bandera ranching lifestyle.
“We’re telling the story of the cowgirls in Bandera County who work just as hard as cowboys do,” Karen Osman, Bandera Cowgirls marketing director, said.
Featured this year is Mickey Rohrbach, veteran cowgirl and barrel racing legend. On Oct. 19, at the age of 84, Rohrbach was inducted into the South Texas Rodeo Ring of Honor, which recognizes men and women who have made significant contributions to the sport of rodeo in south Texas.
The 2020 calendar girls are Stephanie D’Spain, Nancy Stricker, Alejandra Garrison, Beth Klaus, Kathryn Hawkins, Jeannie Walker, Keylee Levi, Tana Jureczke, Patti Brown, Linè Martin, Vanessa Hamilton and Robin Montague.
The calendars, which retail for $15, are available at Spirits of Texas, the Bandera General Store, True Value and other locations throughout the county. Once you have your calendars, mark them for Feb. 16, when the Bandera Cowgirls will host a fundraiser for the Silver Sage Cottage Community (listen to the audio above accompanying this story for more).
