Lady Bulldogs corral Lady Mavericks in 53-48 win

Bandera's varsity Lady Bulldogs hosted Pearsall last Tuesday and edged out the Lady Mavericks by a 53-48 score for their second non-tournament win of the season.
Charging out to a 19-14 lead at the end of the first, thanks to three pointers by Kristin Salas and Breanna Stimmell, Bandera was keeping Pearsall at bay with defensive rebounds and fast breaks. 
Bandera maintained their aggressive play in the second, going the the basket and getting Pearsall into foul trouble, allowing the Lady Bulldogs to shoot .615 from the line (8-13), and take a 29-25 lead into the locker room at the half.
Bandera kept their lead for the second half with several fast breaks and great defense to get the win and go into the Thanksgiving break on a positive note.
"Along with great shots, driving to the basket and free throws, the Lady 'Dogs had great rebounding on both ends by Chelsey Graves, Madison Leal and Anna Guajardo throughout the whole game," coach Kierstyn Dumont said.
Bandera will host the Devine Arabians on Dec. 3 in the next home game.

In JV action, Bandera took a 24-18 win over Pearsall.
No score was reported for the freshman contest between the two teams.
