Wreath laying ceremony will be held Saturday, Dec. 14
Vanderpool will participate in the National Wreaths Across America Day on Saturday, Dec. 14.
Wreath-laying ceremonies are held across America, including at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as more than 1,600 additional locations in all 50 states, at sea and abroad.
The Vanderpool Volunteer Fire Depart is furnishing 78 wreaths to honor the 78 military veterans buried in the Vanderpool cemetery. The laying ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. at the Vanderpool cemetery - any family members, friends, veterans or volunteers are invited to bring a picture or memento to add to the wreath if you have a loved one there. There will also be wreaths to honor all veterans - living, POW, MIA and those buried elsewhere. Everyone is invited to attend.
