Three county offices challenged, no democrats in March primary

Only three county offices are challenged in Bandera County’s next primary election. On March 3, 2020, voters will choose their next Precinct 1 commissioner, Precinct 3 commissioner and Precinct 2 constable.
Candidates for Precinct 1 commissioner are incumbent Bruce Eliker, who filed Nov. 23, and his challenger Troy Konvicka, who filed Dec. 9.
The candidates for Precinct 3 commissioner are incumbent Jack Moseley, who filed Nov. 13, and his challenger Leanne Beauxbeannes, who filed Dec. 4.
The candidates for Precinct 2 county constable are incumbent Ernest Reich III, who filed Dec. 4, and Greg Spengler, who filed Dec. 6.
Candidates for the other offices open for election include incumbent Janna Lindig for county attorney, who filed Dec. 9; incumbent Daniel Butts for sheriff, who filed Dec. 5; Rebekah “Reba” Douglas for tax assessor/collector, who filed Dec. 9; Gina Grothues for Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace, who filed Dec. 9; incumbent Phillip Tobin for Precinct 1 constable, who filed Dec. 9; incumbent Don Walters for Precinct 3 constable, who filed Dec. 9; and incumbent Rod Chalmers for Precinct 4 constable, who filed Dec. 9.
The Bandera County Republican Chair is Lynn Haueter, and the Democratic Chair is Lynn Oliver. No other democrats have filed.
The first day to apply for a ballot by mail is Wednesday, Jan. 1. The last day to register to vote in the primary election is Monday, Feb. 3. Early voting will be Tuesday, Feb. 18 through Friday, Feb. 28. The last day to apply for a ballot by mail is Friday, Feb. 21.
