The Native Plant Society’s January meeting delightfully presents Sandra Magee
On Tuesday, Jan. 14, at the Riverside Nature Center, the Kerrville Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas will hold its monthly meeting featuring Sandra Magee. Sandra will present an overview of the free native plant books she and her husband Scott have developed for electronic devices. She will discuss the content of each book, how to use the book features, and how to get the books.
The initial four books cover more than 250 species of Hill Country native and non-native plants, with descriptive information and multiple photos of each plant. These books are available as PDF and through the Books app for Apple devices. In addition, three new books have been written, available only in PDF format, covering pollinators and native plants.
Sandra and Scott Magee first joined the Houston Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texan in 1998. They became active in the Kerrville Chapter after moving to the Hill Country in 2002. They are both past board members of the Kerrville Chapter.
This presentation will introduce us all to a remarkably useful tool for identification of our native plants and pollinators.
The purpose of the Native Plant Society of Texas is to promote conservation, research, and utilization of native plants in Texas through education, outreach, and example.
The meeting is free and open to the public. Please join us for refreshments and socializing from 1 - 1:30 p.m., with the meeting starting at 1:30 p.m.
