Some motorists driving through Bandera County on Saturday shared the road with a surprise vehicle. At about 5:24 p.m., a small aircraft made an emergency landing on Hwy. 16 at Bear Creek Road.
According to Bandera County Chief Deputy Matt King, the plane, a silver and red Piper M350, emergency landed on the highway after the pilot experienced mechanical problems.
“He performed an emergency shut down and landing,” King said.
The pilot landed without incident, and neither he nor his passenger, nor any motorists were injured.
After the FAA performed an investigation, the plane was cleared for removal this morning.
