Those who begin their days with a good cup of joe from Cavanaugh Coffee Co. need not despair. The transition in ownership is expected to be as smooth as the warm drinks served there.
Brice Cavanaugh, who submitted his resignation as a Bandera City Council member this week, has sold the majority of his inventory and equipment to Tammie Jones and Arlene Guerra, owners of TJ’s at the Old Forge.
Jones and Guerra said they will change the name from Cavanaugh’s to the Cowboy Coffee Company. They said the menu will remain the same, with some additions planned, including protein shakes, soft serve frozen yogurt and expanded breakfast foods like quiche and breakfast sandwiches.
Also, customers who want to eat on the balcony will be able to order their food downstairs and have it served upstairs.
“They will continue to keep it the town’s premier coffee shop here in town,” Cavanaugh said, adding their efforts to maintain focus on coffee will remain in tact. “I’m really excited about that.”
Cavanaugh is relocating to Austin, where he will expand his business Operation Overwatch, a dog rescue and training facility for veterans and first responders.
