Events, games and classes are being cancelled and suspended in cities all over the country in reaction to the World Health Organization’s declaration of a pandemic. COVID-19, or the coronavirus, has made its way to Texas, but Bandera remains in the clear for any confirmed cases.
“We checked the Texas public health website this morning,” Bandera Wrangler Jerad Wilcox said, adding the group has decided to go ahead with the Ham Rodeo, which begins tomorrow. “We just ask people to be responsible this weekend. If you’re not feeling well, cold or flu like symptoms then please stay home. If you’re feeling fine and healthy then please come join us. There will be hand wash stations at the rodeo and bring hand sanitizer.”
Friday night, Tracy Byrd and other performers will hit the stage at Mansfield Park. Gates open at 4 p.m. Saturday, gates open at 10 a.m. for the sanctioned cook-off, Ms. Bacon Pageant, wild hog catch and other activities.
Ticket pricing is as follows:
~ $40 - Weekend Pass: Admission for both days and includes the Ham Rodeo, the Tracy Byrd Concert with George Dearborn, Brett Mullins Band and Rebel Roxie, as well as the Ms. Bacon Pageant, the BBQ Cook-off, and all Saturday activities.
~ $10 - Saturday Only Ticket: Admission to the Opening Ceremonies, Hog Catch, Hog Call, Pig Races and Kids Zone.
~ $5 - Kids 5 to 12 (Under 5 are free)
