Lakehills Library Leanings
By Vicki L. George
The Bandera Prophet
The Lakehills Area Library will follow the lead of the Bandera Independent School District. As long as the schools remain closed, the library will also remain closed to the public. Therefore, at this time, the library will be closed until Monday, April 20.
Even though they will be closed to the public, the director has announced that the free WiFi is available in the parking lot.
The staff will be there. If a patron wants a particular book or DVD, they can call the library ahead of time and a staff member can hand it through the door. The staff can take care of copying, printing, faxing, and notarizing at the door. Library card holders can reserve books and DVDs online at the website and pick them up at the library door. Returned items must be placed in the book return bin outside. Patrons can call with requests for items and services, and with their questions.
Valerie Moore is our artist of the month with her beautiful oil paintings. Her exhibit will remain in the library through the month of April, until May 2.
Moore hails from Kerrville and is a Real Estate Broker by day. She paints for relaxation and finds pleasure in recording the scenery of the places in which she has lived or visited. The scenes she has captured include New Mexico, Colorado, and our own Texas Hill Country.
Moore’s works are available for purchase. She can be reached at 830-343-4040 or [email protected]. She is pleased to work with clients to provide custom paintings.
During this time of social distancing, the library’s hours are Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is located at 7200 FM 1283 and the phone number is 830-510-2777. Their website is lakehillslibrary.org. They will keep everyone posted on Facebook.
