Reports have been released that a Bandera County man is being treated in Kerrville for CoViD-19, though the state has not yet confirmed the test results.
Peterson Health reported in a news release that the man arrived at their emergency department on Monday. If positive, this would be the first confirmed case of a Bandera County resident.
"The patient arrived at the emergency department on Monday exhibiting symptoms related to COVID-19. The staff immediately isolated and screened the patient. The patient was admitted to the hospital pending results and has remained in isolation at all times," Peterson Health Director of Marketing & Community Relations Lisa Winters said.
The individual, in his 70s, is reported to have recently traveled to an identified hot spot.
Bandera County Emergency Operations Coordinator Carey Reed said she is waiting for confirmation from the Texas Department of State Health Services.
As of April 7, 8,262 positive cases have been confirmed in 161 of 254 counties statewide. Of those, 1,252 patients are hospitalized and 154 people have died from the disease.
