Bandera Independent School District is pleased to congratulate Chief Financial Officer Scott Tipton on his appointment to a similar role in Pecos-Barstow-Toyah ISD. Tipton came to Bandera ISD from Bryan ISD as a middle school math teacher in 2004. He served as the vice-principal of Bandera Middle School from 2006 to 2009. He also served as the principal of Alkek Elementary from 2009 to 2015, and he has been Bandera ISD’s Chief Financial Officer since 2015. During his time in Bandera, Mr. Tipton has built lasting relationships and stewarded the finances of the district. During his tenure BISD has realized a two-million dollar savings on bond debt, increased employee salaries, and lowered the tax rate.
“I will truly miss the Bandera community, Bandera ISD and all the great relationships and friendships that were built both professionally and with the great children of Bandera,” Tipton said.
“Mr. Tipton has been an invaluable member of our leadership team. His background as a teacher and campus principal has made him an exceptional CFO and always allowed him to maintain his focus on our main purpose--students and learning. I wish him the very best in west Texas, but I will miss having him on our team,” Superintendent Dr. Jerry Hollingsworth said.
