Bandera Economic Development Corporation to develop stimulus grants for city businesses

During their regular meeting on Thursday, April 9, Bandera Economic Development Corporation board members unanimously approved a $100,000 budget amendment for CoViD-19 stimulus grants, pending City Council approval.
A total of 100 businesses within the city may apply for a $1,000 grant each, including those owned by Bandera City Council and BEDC board members. Under normal circumstances, those businesses would not qualify for assistance.
Applications will be available on the City of Bandera website and hard copies will be at City Hall. BEDC Board President Toni Kunz will prepare information to be included in the next mayor’s letter, which is distributed with residents’ utility bills.
All applications will be date- and time-stamped, and will be reviewed on a first come/first served basis.
BEDC board members are set to convene in special meetings on April 16, 23 and 30 to review and approve the grant requests, pending City Council approval.
If federal or state funding is received, those moneys will be distributed in a second wave of applications.
