Lakehills Library Leanings

By Vicki L. George
The Bandera Prophet

The Lakehills Area Library, in following the lead of Bandera Independent School District and the orders of Governor Abbott, will remain closed to the public until further notice and all library events throughout the month of May are canceled.
However, the board will meet on May 13 and things could change. The library will post updates on Facebook.
Even though they are closed to the public, the director reminds us that the free WiFi is available in the parking lot.
The staff is still there and they can take care of copying, printing, faxing, and notarizing at the door. Library card holders can reserve books and DVDs online at the website, or by phone, and pick them up at the library door. Returned items must be placed in the book return bin outside. Patrons can call with requests for information, items and services. By calling the library, a newcomer can be given a library card.
Library cards are free and borrowing books and DVDs cost nothing. The other services have fees: Printing and copying cost 15 cents a page and faxing costs $1 a page. Director Dianna Landes is a Notary and can notarize documents for $4.
During this time of social distancing, the library’s hours are Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is located at 7200 FM 1283 and the phone number is 830-510-2777. Their website is lakehillslibrary.org.
