As of this morning, Bandera County has one active CoViD-19 case. The patient has had two negative tests since testing positive. Once she tests negative a third time, she will be released as an active case, Emergency Management Coordinator Carey Reed said. The other five patients have recovered.
A third round of CoViD-19 testing will be held on Thursday, May 14, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Mansfield Park. There is no cost to be tested, however registration is required.
Callers will be screened for fever and/or chills, cough, fatigue, body aches, shortness of breath, sore throat, headaches, nausea/ vomiting/diarrhea, nasal congestion and loss of taste or smell. First responders and health care workers may sign up for testing without symptoms.
Reed said 36 people were tested during the second mobile drive-thru on May 6.
Of the 45 people who were tested and came back negative during the first round, 37 were actually Bandera County residents. Reed said people from Kendall, Medina, Bexar, Kerr and DeWitt Counties came to Bandera for the event. She said she would not know how many non-Bandera County residents were in the second round until the lab results return from Galveston.
To register, go to txcovidtest.org or call 512-883-2400. The tests on Thursday will be conducted by appointment only.
