Hill Country Samaritans preparing for Back To School Bash

Given the current economic situation, everyone in Bandera County is affected in one way or another. The Hill Country Samaritans are anticipating an even greater number of students and families than last year, who will benefit from the Back to School Bash.
HCS has already been able to purchase more than 650 new backpacks through a grant by the BEC Foundation, and now they’re looking to neighbors to help fill those bags with blessings. $15 covers the basic supplies of one student. More than 500 students attended last year's bash.
Hill Country Samaritans is a 501c3 Christian non-profit, and has been in existence since 2018. The board and all of its members are volunteers, so each donation goes directly to fund the Back to School Bash, which will be held Aug. 2, at the Lakehills Civic Center. Because of the current conditions with COVID- 19, Hill Country Samaritans is coordinating with Bandera ISD to provide safe avenues to participate in the 2020 Back to School Bash, including a drive through. A healthy happy start to the 2020-2021 school year is the goal!
Financial donations may be made through Paypal on the Hill Country Samaritans website (hillcountrysamaritans.org), and entire shopping packages and pledges are available for organizations and churches as well. Kelly Beedle is the HCS Back to School Bash coordinator. You may reach her at [email protected].
