The National Weather Service has issued another heat advisory, as triple-digit temperatures exceeding 100 degrees are expected for the fifth consecutive day.
Predicting more "dangerous heat," the NWS advises people to "stay hydrated and take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning. Limit strenuous outdoor activities and check up on the elderly, sick, and those without air conditioning. NEVER leave kids, pets or disabled adults in unattended vehicles."
Monday's high of 107 degrees beat July's previous record of 106 degrees - set in 1989 - in San Antonio. Daily records are also being broken: Friday's high of 103 degrees beat the previous record of 102 degrees set in 1917.
Temperatures are forecast to drop slightly on Wednesday and Thursday may see humid highs in the 90s, with the first chance of rain on Tuesday of next week.
