National Voter Registration Day is Tuesday, Sept. 22

By the League of Women Voters
Special to the Prophet

The League of Women Voters of the Hill Country Texas urges all citizens to take time on Tuesday, Sept. 22, to register to vote, to change personal details on voter registration information if needed (name and/or address), or to simply check the status of personal voter registration information.
National Voter Registration Day designates the fourth Tuesday in September every year to observe voter registration events in all 50 states. Many organizations create and support activities to promote voter registration on this day.
Founded in 2012, the nonpartisan effort to encourage American citizens to exercise the right to vote provides more information on the website: www.nationalvoterregistrationday.org.
A citizen may register at any time by going in person to the Bandera County Tax Office at 403 12th Street in Bandera. The State of Texas does not have online voter registration, so a citizen can go online, print out a voter registration form and mail it to the Bandera County Election Department at P. O. Box 1882, Bandera, TX 78003.
Find the link to the form by using the Bandera County Election Department website: https://www.banderacounty.org/departments/ElectionAdministrator.htm.
The website for National Voter Registration Day lists voter registration events scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 22 in all 50 states, so a citizen can locate an event to register in person on that day.
Followers of social media search: #NationalVoterRegistrationDay and #VoteReady.
League of Women Voters of the Hill Country Texas has 40 years of work focused on registering citizens to vote, educating citizens on candidates and issues, and encouraging citizens to vote.
