The Bandera Prophet
The Bulldogs hosted the Comfort Bobcats Thursday evening and after the dust had cleared, the visitors left Bandera with a 30-8 victory.
Comfort scored early and often in the game, racking up 24 points in the first quarter, thanks to a good running game and an onside kick, putting the Bulldogs in catch up mode.
Bandera's only score came late in the second quarter with a Daine Grabs 8-yard rush and a following two point conversion on a pass from QB Dylan Gherman to Alex Dirck.
The Bulldog defense made some good halftime adjustments and and held the Bobcats to just a single touchdown and a two point conversion in the second half to end the game with the 30-8 final score.
The freshmen Bulldogs get a much needed week off before traveling to Crystal City for a 5 p.m. kickoff on Oct. 8.
Ethan Boyd and Gavin Spruell were disruptive throughout the night. Caleb Hohon and Mitchell Powell split carrying the ball. Brayden Thomas finished off with two touchdown runs. The Bulldogs lost a close game 16-12.
