Castle Lake Ranch VFD cancels fundraiser
Raffle event will still be held, tickets on sale Oct. 3 at Lowe’s

By Castle Lake Ranch VFD
Special to the Prophet

Sadly, we are cancelling our 35th annual Turkey Shoot Fundraiser this year to ensure we do not put our members and supporters in harm’s way during a large gathering. We have also scaled back our budget to keep the lights on, put fuel in the trucks and pay everyday expenses. As always, our pledge is to continue to save lives, protect property and mitigate disasters.
Thanks to our generous supporters, our annual Turkey Shoot normally raises most of the funds we need to cover operating expenses for the year and of course, provides a great time with family, neighbors and friends. Without this event, we will be terribly lacking in funds. We are accepting donations via our website, firehouse drop off, or mail.

We hope to see you when the Turkey Shoot returns next year!  And please keep yourselves well and safe in these trying times.
We are still holding our annual raffle and will do the drawing on Nov. 7, at 4 p.m., at our fire house. Prizes are a Diamondback AR Rifle, a Rock Island 1911 Pistol, a Deer Blind and a Deer Feeder.
Tickets are $1 or six for $5. We will sell tickets on Oct. 3 at Lowe’s Market in Bandera.
