Bandera streaks to another double win

The Bandera Lady Bulldogs added to their bid as a top team in the state 4A rankings with another strong showing at the second annual Comfort Billy Nabours Oktoberfest Invite on Saturday.
Raelynn Butler brought home the gold medal, Hannah Edwards finished third for the bronze and Morgan Cole was fifth as eight other Lady Bulldogs medaled to dominate the field.
Bandera was kept from a podium sweep by freshman Aly Wray from Lago Vista.
Lady Bulldog, Kaitlin Doebbler finished in 11th and Makayla Gonzales was the fifth points scorer for Bandera with a 14th place. Mallorie Powell, Trinity Butler, Danielle Gonzales and Gracie Bankston all medaled for the event.
Madison Gillaspie, in her first ever varsity race, finnished in 35th, finishing ahead of some seasoned competitors in the field of 61 runners.
Girls varsity 3200M

The Bulldogs took their second team gold of the season with a 31 point score to finish ahead of Hondo and Wimberley. Llano and Ingram Tom Moore rounded out the top five teams.
Logan Dybowski edged out Anthony Sandoval from Hondo by .40 to win second place, leading the Bulldog charge. Sandoval's teammate, Angel Rodriguez, took the overall win.
Ethan Brown had another top ten with a fourthe place finish and Braden Cox finished sixth.
Another Bandera freshman in their first varsity race, Mariano Casas, proved the move to varsity was a good one with a strong ninth place while scoring points for Bandera and Josh Short was the final points scorer for Bandera in tenth.
Sam Nimmrichter, Hudson Jackson and Cody Jureczki all finished in the top 21 places.
Jesus Rodriguez and Donovan Brown also ran for Bandera.
Bandera will host the second of three events at Bandera City Park next Saturday, Oct. 10 with the first event slated for an 8 a.m. start.
